Dubai Hotels: Expensive Cities on a Budget
Just because you don’t have an unlimited supply of cash, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy taking a holiday to some of the world’s most expensive cities. Dubai hotels range in price, and you can find some great deals. The same goes for other pricey cities such as Paris.
The two star Al Sharq Hotel is a lovely place to stay while on holiday in Dubai, and is one of the most affordable hotels in Dubai. Found in Sharjah, situated close to the Port Khalid, Sharjag Gold Souq and Islamic Museum, as well as the city centre and Al Jazeera Park. There are many cheap or free activities you can indulge in when you’re in Dubai. If you can handle the heat, soaking up some of the rays on the beach is an affordable option. Water sports are available on most beaches as well, if you get bored lying out all day. Another cheap day out is heading to one of Dubai’s water parks; you can entertain yourself on the fun slides while enjoying the glorious sunny weather.
Dubai is home to many art galleries, which is an economical way to enjoy some of the area’s culture. Artsawa is a large part of the art scene in Dubai, and hosts lots of different exhibitions all year round, so it’s a good idea to check the schedule to see if the show is something that interests you. If you are interested in contemporary art, the Art Space is the place for you. It is a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture, as the museum is dedicated to promoting artists from the area. Artwork from Asia and the Far East is showcased at the Bagash Art Gallery, while the B21 Gallery offers work from Jeffar Khaldi, a Palestinian artist. Local artists are also exhibited here.
Dubai is rich in Arabian heritage, of which you can experience by visiting the intricate historical buildings such as Al Ahmediya School. Others worth passing through include the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and Jumeirah Mosque.
A great way to save money while visiting Paris is to stay in accommodation that is slightly out of the centre. It’s very easy to get into the city centre in Paris because of its convenient metro subway system. There are many Paris hotels to choose from, but a great place to stay is the Premiere Classe Chantilly Sud-Luzarches in the outskirts of the city. In case you are tired after a day sightseeing; the hotel has a restaurant where you can eat instead of going out in Paris.
There are lots of free things to do in Paris. All the main tourist attractions are either very cheap or free, such as strolling down the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triumph. Most of experiencing Paris is exploring the city by foot, taking in all the little boulangeries and beautiful architecture. Don’t forget to stop by the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, and a trip to the top gives you views of the entire city.
