The original Obi-Wan Kenobi scripts were a bit too bleak which led to production on the show being halted for rewrites. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy broke down what happened to the original scripts and what led them to make a quick pivot on the direction for the show. Obi-Wan star Ewan McGregor admits that the series starts in a pretty dark place, seeing as his character finds himself a bit shaken due to the events that occurred at the end of Episode 3 with Order 66, and the Jedi order being slaughtered, with everyone who survived now in hiding. McGregor goes into more detail about the state of Obi-Wan by saying, “After dealing with his personal failure with Anakin, he feels that it’s his personal responsibility, that he allowed Anakin to be tempted over to the Dark Side, and that he wasn’t able to stop that. His teaching wasn’t able to protect Anakin from that, I think obviously weighs very heavily on him.” The first trailer of the upcoming Star Wars series took us back to Tatooine, with an exclusive image from Entertainment Weekly to follow giving us our first glimpse of Darth Vader. With the return of #ObiWanKenobi in the #StarWars series, there’s been nothing but positivity swelling within the Star Wars fandom. And Ewan McGregor agrees! Continuing in the interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor talked about how he thinks public opinions of the Star Wars prequels have shifted as of recent years. And finally, in non Star Wars news, Samuel L. Jackson is not happy about a list of the most swear words said on screen.
