It’s finally Friday, which means it’s time for Best Buy Canada to share their latest and greatest deals with shoppers.
Each Friday, the retailer releases a new batch of fresh deals in their online flyer, giving shoppers the chance to save on tech, home appliances, electronics and more.
If you’re looking for a way to control all of your smart devices and access your streaming services, Best Buy Canada’s latest deal might be for you. Starting today, shoppers can save $30 on a Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) Smart Display with Google Assistant, on sale for $100.
The details
If you’re looking for an easy way to control and access your smart devices, Google Nest Hub is an easy way to do just that.
The 7” screen allows you to stream your favourite music and video content from apps like YouTube, Netflix or Disney+, while also having access to your other smart devices to control your lighting, thermostat, video doorbells and more (sold separately).
The Google Nest Hub allows you to access weather forecasts, set alarms and calendar reminders and make voice calls using Google Duo.
What people are saying
The Google Nest Hub has earned more than 130 five star reviews from shoppers who have called it a “great device” that “makes life easier” for accessing your favourite apps, music and more.
“‘Hey Google…’ has become the most spoken sentence ever in our household,” one shopper wrote. “We use it every day, mostly for entertainment (music, news etc.) on the device.”
“I love this wonderful electronic item,” another said. “Recipes, music and information available at a ‘Hey Google.’”
“I love having a show on while I’m cooking or doing dishes,” one shopper said, adding that they love to “check the weather forecast at a glance.”
Although there are tons of positives to the Google Nest Hub, some shoppers have said they’ve had issues learning how to use the device, while others have complained that Bluetooth connections can drop out suddenly. One thing to consider before you buy is that while you can make voice calls using the Nest Hub, this particular version doesn’t have a camera to make video calls.
Verdict
If you have plenty of smart devices in your home and want an easy way to control and access them all, the Google Nest Hub might be for you. With tons of features and controls, it’s the perfect “hub” for your smart home — it just doesn’t have a camera to make video calls.
