making the warp from yarn for a round weaving

How to make a round doodle weaving:

1. Established up the warp (these are the vertical threads). I did this by chopping a complete bunch of threads and then taping them to the side of the hoop. I did not measure, just eye-balled. I also loosely taped the hanging threads up to the facet which is why it appears to be like there is so a lot tape.

2. Begin weaving. Anything goes, listed here. Refer back again to my first doodle weaving publish for far more express instructions. Just start out and end underneath. And use a fork to force down the weft (these are the horizontal threads).

3. I use a “shoelace” technique when weaving whereby I wrap the conclusion of the yarn with a piece of tape so that it is less complicated to weave with. This is because I are unable to come across my plastic weaving needles. But it is also due to the fact I can’t see effectively more than enough to thread the needle. This procedure will work seriously effectively for me. It’s rapid and simple.

4. You don’t have to go from base to best when doodle weaving. You can start off anyplace and transfer about until eventually it’s all crammed up. I eventually want to weave like I would draw, but for now I instinctively go base to top. You can also go back again in and fill areas if there are gaps. The fork definitely can help to make it all tight.

5. When concluded, I pulled off the blue tape that I utilized to loosely keep the finishes, but I left the tape that retains the warp. I created guaranteed you could not see it when placing the outer hoop around the inner hoop. Tighten the outer hoop as restricted as you can.
