RM, the leader of well known boy band Bangtan Boys, also recognized as BTS, explained he hopes to open up an exhibition space in Korea that includes his non-public art assortment.
In the most current episode of Art Basel’s podcast hosted by Marc Spiegler and introduced on Tuesday, RM talked about his passion for artwork and museums.
“This is the first time I am indicating this, but, critically, I am setting up to make a smaller of my individual private selection. And maybe, just a cafe on the very first floor, and set up my collection on the next and third ground. So, persons could generally see the collections when they just want to see them,” RM said in English.
“We are not able to see the excellent Korean artists since there are not many museums proper now, there are not many galleries suitable now [in Korea]. So I want to make my very own sometime,” he extra.
RM recalled he very first became fascinated by artwork in the course of his visits to museums when he discovered some totally free time even though operating on the band’s tour of the U.S. and Europe in 2018.
He said he felt drawn to artwork after seeing works by Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Georges Seurat at the Artwork Institute of Chicago. He then significantly began to appear for Korean artists and made pilgrimages to galleries.
