The West Baton Rouge Department of Parks and Recreation offers experienced entertainments and artwork and science classes in 4 places during the parish. All of the pursuits are open to the community and are ideal for youth ages 5 to 11 yrs, people, and grownups. The entertainments characteristic ballet and hip hop dance, puppetry, theater, and storytelling. The art and science explorations present contributors fingers-on encounter with different artwork media when studying about popular artists and their functions. June 21 & 22 (Tuesday & Wednesday) Kabuki Dance Fall THE B.E.A.T.
Kabuki Dancers are doing artists from Louisiana’s Acadiana area. Through dance, spoken phrase, poetry and the drums, master what it usually means to Fall the B.E.A.T. (Bullying Ends Soon after Conversing) with the Kabuki Dancers.

June 30 (Thursday) Hobey Ford’s Animalia
Hobey Ford is one particular of our biggest puppeteers. He is a two-timed winner of puppetry’s optimum honor, the UNIMA Citation of Excellence and is the recipient of 3 Jim Henson Foundation grants. It is fascinating to have him complete in West Baton Rouge.
Hobey Ford’s Animalia is a spellbinding, magical, up close exploration of the animal earth, from the metamorphosis of a butterfly and a tadpole, to the flight of a bald eagle and the playful romp of otters. The demonstrate is performed to tunes as Hobey breaks out of the regular puppet theater booth, turning the complete location in front of the viewers into his functionality phase.
