Twiggs Gallery is launching its 2022 season with “Impact! Abstract,” an exhibition that showcases six New Hampshire artists approaching abstraction with an interesting variety of media. Paint, ink, collage, gunpowder, fiber and Legos all play into the mix of unusual materials. The imagery is bold, powerful and full of impact.
The exhibition opens with an artists’ reception on April 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 254 King Street in Boscawen. The exhibit runs through May 28.
Participating artists are Becky Barsi, Kate Higley, Ethel Hills, Grace Mattern, Ann Saunderson and Daniela Wenzel.
On April 16 from 1 to 3 pm, Alice B. Fogel, New Hampshire Poet Laureate (2014-2019) will be reading from her new book of poems inspired by abstract expressionist art, “Nothing But: a series of indirect considerations on art & consciousness.” There will be a book signing opportunity afterwards. The event is free but seating is limited. Register at twiggsgallery.wordpress.com to reserve a ticket.
