Art Square Studios to host Open Studios June 26, all are invited

All are invited to attend Art Square Studios’ third Open Studios event on June 26.
The art gallery is located at 5301 Almeda Road in Houston’s thriving Museum District. The event begins at noon.
“The 15 artists at Art Square Studios invite everyone to take an afternoon art break and come by and visit us in our studios,” said Lucy Riggs, multi-media artist. “We are a small, friendly group of artists who are opening our studios for visitors to come and see the spaces where we work. The building is wheelchair accessible, so it’s easy for everyone to come and visit. Put June 26 on your calendar and we’ll see you then.”
One of the featured artists, Riggs teaches in The Heights at Art Studio on the Boulevard.
The exhibition will feature photographs as well as works oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel. The group also includes a fashion designer.
The studio has a new gallery showcasing the work of well-known Houston artists.
Artwork will be displayed on the walls on the first and second floors of the building. Visitors can see the work and meet each artist personally in the studios.
Art Square artists participating in the upcoming Open Studios include Ann Bell, Heather Den Uijl, GLH Galleries, Justin Earl Grant, Alan Hurwitz, Riaz Kahn, Ruhee Maknojia, Sunny McKinnon, Pooneh Nik, Silvio Ortega, Donna E. Perkins, Lucy Wells Riggs, Helene Robinson, Earl Staley and Bob Warren.
Art Square Studios on Almeda opened with the completion of the building July 2020. Their first open studios was held in December 2021. A second open studios took place in March 2022. The event planned for June 26 will be the third.
